Silver Award

The Girl Scout Silver Award is the highest award that a Girl Scout Cadette may earn. The award is representative of a girl's achievements in working to enrich her life and the lives of others in her community.  You must be a registered Cadette Girl Scout to work on the Girl Scout Silver Award.  A Silver Award will helps girls build skills, make a commitment to self-improvement, and explore careers and gain leadership skills.  By earning the Girl Scout Silver Award, a girl will be joining the ranks of generations of young women who have made a difference in their communities both locally and globally.

Girl Scout Cadettes beginning the Silver Award process prior to October 1, 2010 have the option of beginning under the Focus Book based award requirements OR the new Journey based requirements.  The Girl Scouts of Northern California recommends using the Journey based requirements now as the older version of the award has limited material and informational support.  They no longer stock the accompanying materials and award recognitions to the Focus Book based award requirements.

New guidelines, based on Journeys, are on the council website.
